It was a bright shiny day and I was sitting on the old brown bench at the park, watching my son playing happily when suddenly I heard these voices,
“I’m sad. My siblings are dead. They cut them all. I’m alone.”
“Me too. I’m melting slowly, one day; sooner or later I will sink, save me. Please think”
“My entire families are dying. We are going extinct. Soon, there are no more ‘us’ in this jungle. It’s in sorrow, how about us tomorrow?”
“I’m getting shallow, and I forget how to flow. My fluid used to be crystal clear, but now it’s bleakly and cloudy as you go near. Oh God, I’m in fear.”
“We are crying because it’s not clean, gasping for air, our Mother is not green.”
“The temperature is high!”
“Our Mother is in danger, save it and makes it stronger!”
Oh no, is earth just talking to me? What have we done to them?
We are too busy chasing wealth and fortune but in a same time we did not realise that we destroy it little by little, slowly but surely. Without the Earth we have nowhere to live along with many other living things out there. We pledges to our own grandchildren to take care of their “belongings” but we already breach the promises and finger cross one day our children or grandchildren might not be able to live on this precious planet.
Then, maybe we can use less paper in our office after this right? Even though it is just a simple effort, but the aftereffect will surprise you. Think before you print any document; just email it to the recipient if it necessary. They won’t get mad, I reckon. So, go paperless and stop cutting down the trees. And you know what, by promoting reforestation; we also can preserve our wildlife habitat.
Any other ways is save energy guys! We can save energy by turning off lights and electronics when they’re not in use. Did you know that you can actually eliminate 2 pounds of Carbon Dioxide per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy generated? As we all know Carbon Dioxide is one of gasses that contribute to global warming. So if you plan on leaving the room you may dim, or switch off the light.
We can do loads of Go Green Campaign, spread the awareness, make loads of advertisement and all that but at the end of the day, attitude is what matter the most. So, change for the better future people! Plus, there is urgent need to save our earth because of the continuous rising in global temperature, melting of polar ice caps, floods and droughts. The condition of our mother earth is getting poor. It is our responsibility to save the earth by practicing the good acts. I care. You care. We care. Together we shower the earth with love and let us give a better “tomorrow” to the future generation.
