Understanding and Implementing ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System

Malaysia ISO Consultant

Overview

What separates a problem from a crisis in your organisation?

The Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) is the focal point within a company for understanding risk and designing methods to mitigate the wide spectrum of threats a company may face domestically or abroad within its business operations. It defines the difference between a problem and a crisis, as well as the corporate ethos and management strategies for developing and sustaining the policies, plans, and protocols for effective risk management, while structuring the organisation’s crisis management organisation to best respond to an event.

The BCMS defines decision-making authorities and responsibilities, communication systems, alert states, and trigger response mechanisms. It supports the leveraging of internal and external resources and knowledge, and also provides business recovery protocols in order to enable crisis recovery to be effective and timely.
