ISO 50001:2018 is the internationally recognised standard that gives organisations the requirements for an Energy Management System (EnMS) and provides the framework for integrating energy performance into their management practices to increase energy efficiency, reduce costs, and improve energy performance.
The new revised version uses a much more effective system to tackle the world’s energy challenges. This new version features updated terms and definitions with greater clarification of certain energy performance concepts, together with a stronger emphasis on top management’s role. It is also now aligned with ISO’s requirements for management system standards, making it possible to be integrated into an organisation’s existing management systems.
