Newly revised ISO 9004 provide guidelines and strategies for organisations to prepare and adapt to challenges. The standard help organisations to improve their overall performance and have become a catalyst for organisations to release their full potential of quality management systems.

The standard aims to help organisations move beyond ISO 9001 by addressing topics as follows:
