2. Energy Metrics
Energy is a common environmental priority because energy use may be associated with greenhouse gas emissions and operating costs. The connection with emissions depends on the energy source.

4. Water Metrics
Water metrics are especially relevant where consumption is significant, supply may be constrained, water represents a significant cost or wastewater presents environmental and compliance risks.

Distinguish Activity Metrics From Performance Metrics
Activity metrics show what the organization has done. Performance metrics show what changed.
